The Counting Continues…. – RCV Update / KoH ’24

I stirred up quite the uproar with these RCV axles in the Nissan world the last few weeks. I understand these are a high end product, and they aren’t for everyone. But they are for someone, the ones that reached out and expressed a need in the first place.
Going back nearly 20 years, I have really tried to be the eyes and ears for the Nissan corner of the off-road industry… especially for those aiming for the next level in off road performance. Overall it’s been an interesting journey, often met with “For a Nissan?” type responses when I appraoch manufactures. Quite honestly, a large part of those types of responses are due to Nissans rarely being seen on the trails by drivers of other makes and models. Despite my countless successes, I agree with them. One could get super analytical comparing sales numbers of toyota vs jeep, ford etc… but it doesn’t matter. What matters is who shows up.. plain and simple. It has always seemed to me that Nissans owners flock with other Nissan owners.. almost exclusively. Much tighter than owners of other makes. I think it’s time to change that. There are countless local wheeling groups, land use organization events, OHV land cleanups, family friendly events, as well as endless competitive events. So, I encourage you all to show up and mingle. Maybe even consider spectating at something like King of the Hammers, which is right around the corner. It’s a massive eye opening event where I think a lot of Nissan owners would learn a lot about build possibilities beyond whats typically talked about. Although I really think it’s cool that Nissan owners are so tight and communicatave, I think it can also be tight to it’s own demise. The bubble is too tight.
I truely believe that the more Nissans are seen among the wild on the trail, the more people will consider and wheel them. In addition, the more demand and support there would be. I’m stepping off of my soapbox for the evening.  But before I do, you should know that Nestor from Camacho Motorsports  / Shaddow Wolf will be racing a 2nd Gen Nissan Xterra at this years King of the Hammers on Feb 2nd! Check it out and watch live online at kingofthehammers.com or head out to Johnson Valley!

As the for RCV’s… the list continues. Keep spreading the word and we will tally it all up in a few weeks. All Nissan 4×4 makes have a shot at this, and I think you’ll be surprised with which model has the most demand at the moment.
If you want to drop by camp at KoH and have a chat, please reach out. I hope to see you on the lakebed. Otherwise, stay tuned!
