Welp here it is, after dancing around the idea, i finally took the plunge and got the blog up and operating. Here is where we’ll have reports and stories from various events, trail runs, truck builds and whatever other 4×4 related stuff i decide to post. As we attend more events and go on more trail runs, break stuff, fix stuff, build stuff and….stuff, the blogs will be great source of information for others planning a run so they know exactly what they are getting into. This will also be a great source of info for building stuff and modding your truck.
Yaesu FT-7800R 50W
The FT-7800R provides 50 Watts of power on the 144 Mhz band, and 40 Watts on the 430 MHz, and is designed for simplicity of operation along with high performance in the receiver section. The FT-7800R is ideal for the active Ham who has a need for simplex, repeater, or FM satellite operation on both bands, but without the complication of cross-band repeat capability, which is available on our FT-8800R and FT-8900R models.
Yaesu FT-2800M
High power output, a huge, easy-to-read display, and one-touch WIRES™ Internet Linking Access capability are yours with the rugged new FT-2800M! Four selectable power output levels are provided: 65/25/10/5 Watts. The power selection may be stored into memory, allowing you to conserve power while using strong local repeaters. For easy repeater access, or silent monitoring of busy channels, both CTCSS and DCS (Digital Code Squelch) Encoder/Decoder circuits are built in. CTCSS and DCS configuration data may be stored independently in each memory channel. A “Split Tone” mode also allows operation on systems where CTCSS and DCS are used separately on the repeater uplink/downlink. WX Channels with ""Severe Weather"" Alert
